Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo and defensive back Tyler Hall were injured during the team’s Week 3 preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. The injuries occurred late in the second quarter when Bobo, attempting to return a punt, collided with Hall.
The Incident
As Bobo tried to make a fair catch on a short punt, he crashed into Hall, who was being blocked by a Packers defender. The impact caused Bobo to muff the punt. Both players remained on the field after the collision, prompting immediate medical attention from the Seahawks bench.
Bobo’s Injury
Bobo was able to stand up and walk into the locker room under his own power after receiving treatment on the field. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald later confirmed Bobo had suffered a concussion from the collision.
“Considering what it looked like, I think we’re fortunate that’s what we’re dealing with at this point,” Macdonald said. Despite the hit, Bobo was in “good spirits,” though no timeline for his return was provided. Macdonald mentioned that Bobo would begin concussion protocol.
Hall’s Injury
Hall, who was unable to walk off the field, was carted off after being helped into the blue medical tent. Macdonald gave a positive update, stating that Hall had suffered a knee injury, but it didn’t appear serious. “We think structurally it’s OK,” he said.
The coach added that Hall would undergo imaging, but early signs pointed to a more optimistic long-term outlook.
No details were provided regarding when Hall might undergo an MRI or any additional tests for his knee.
